BIOSYNTHETIC
This series presents sculptures formed through a process that minimizes artistic intervention, allowing nature itself to shape the final creation.
Each piece was constructed by a colony of bees over a span of 3 to 7 days. The sculptures were then carefully removed from the hive and photographed in a specially built studio setting to prepare them for lenticular printing.
Through these three-dimensional images, the original sculptures are magnified, revealing intricate details that would otherwise remain unseen.
I began working on this project in 2016, thanks to the generous opportunity provided by beekeeper Ulrich Beckmann from Berlin. He allowed me to collaborate with his bees in both Berlin and Brandenburg. The beehives were placed in diverse locations, including the rooftops of theatres, balconies, city parks, and even the gardens of private castles.
Lenticular printing: creates a dynamic, three-dimensional effect, allowing the viewer to experience the image from different angles. By changing perspective it seems to transform or move, creating spectacular experience for the perception of the picture.
