The In this series of works created with the help of bees, the artist explores questions such as how we can aesthetically perceive and interpret forms/objects that go beyond human creativity, using the assistance of natural phenomena and laws. The artist assumes a secondary role and instead becomes an inventor of new methods for creating such objects. Nature itself is allowed to create and design the pieces of art.
The lightboxes used combine object art and 3D-photography. They display single sculptural forms created by the bee colonies. All works display an almost sensual surface texture and yet simultaneously appear disembodied being placed in a space devoid of any dimensions, a space generated by lenticular technique. The printing technique is based on miniature stereoscopic lenses or prisms designed to create the impression of spatial dimensionality.
